Concert 2024 – Beautiful Homelands

Zenon students and staff have worked very hard to organise and perform on November 22nd, 2024 in a wonderful performance titled “Beautiful Homelands”, denoting Greece and Cyprus. The event took place at The Auditorium, Glen Eira City Council offices in Caulfield, Melbourne.

The performance started with 16 girl students from Zenon Greek School dancing the Karyatides dance, which is the dance commemorating the lighting of the Olympic torch in Olympia, holding torches and wearing all white dresses.

Our songs, plays, dancing was enjoyed by the 400 strong audience made up of parents, grandparents, families and friends. Although to stage such a large cast, especially with many small children is no easy feat, parents enjoyed it, and some were overwhelmed.

Two of our students received awards for their ethos and excellent work ethic. They were Ariah Dimokranitis and Terry Tsakiridis, both of which excelled in their work. We congratulate them and wish them all the best for the future.

Mrs Christine Papas was the MC on the day and did an excellent job. Mr Sotiris Sotiriou organised and directed students in the many dancing routines, of traditional Greek dances from all over Greece and Cyprus.

Mrs Andrea Garivaldis, our Principle expressed her satisfaction for the hard work and dedication of staff, showing how cohesive and professional they have been throughout the rehearsals and final performance on stage.

The performance ended with a few Greek Cypriot dances by the Pegasus Dance Academy, dressed in traditional Cypriot costumes. Below are some of the photos taken on the night.
